WHAT IS ACADEMIC PROBATION?
A student is placed on academic probation at the end of any semester
if his/her cumulative grade point average (GPA) drops below 2.00.
The effect of being placed on academic probation is to serve notice
to the student that the quality of his/her work is below an acceptable
level.
-
If a student on academic probation earns a 2.00 cumulative
GPA at the end of the next semester, the student returns to good
academic standing.
-
If a 2.00 minimum cumulative GPA is not earned the next
semester, but a term GPA of at least 2.00 is earned,
the student will remain on academic probation.
-
If the student does not raise the cumulative GPA to
at least 2.00 by the end of the next semester and does not attain
a term GPA of at least 2.00, the student will be suspended
from the University (see Suspended
Student Support).
