This addendum refers specifically to student commitment number three
of the Four Bear contract: "Be accepted
into the ultimate degree major prior to earning 45 credits (the
plan is applicable to one major only)."
I understand all of the following:
- The definition of "ultimate degree major" is a major
in which one can earn a degree from The University of Montana. Therefore,
it is not acceptable to have the following majors listed
on your official UM record as your primary major upon completion
of 45 cumulative credits:
| Undeclared |
Pre-Education |
Pre-English |
| Pre-Law |
Pre-Communication Studies |
Pre-Psychology |
Pre-Nursing |
Pre-Physical Therapy |
Pre-Med |
- It is my responsibility to meet all eligibility requirements,
complete any applicable application materials, and/or complete a
change of major form in order to be accepted into my ultimate degree
major.
- If I am a Pre-Pharmacy or Pre-Journalism major, I must apply and
be accepted to my professional school by the time I earn 60 cumulative
credits.
- If I am a continuing Pre-Nursing student, I am eligible for program
participation until I have completed 45 credits.
- It is the absolute discretion of departments to make decisions
on the acceptance of students into its degree majors and whether
Four Bear status can be maintained. You must abide by the decision
or appeal to the appropriate person within the department or to
the Four Bear Coordinator.
- My Four Bear contract will be voided if I change my major after
I have completed 45 cumulative credits.
- The Four Bear contract is applicable to one major.
- Secondary teaching certifications are considered second majors.
