Joe Jessepe, Academic Support Specialist (Browning)

I am a lifelong resident of the Blackfeet reservation and attended school in Browning from kindergarten through high school graduation.  I have lived in Browning or East Glacier all my life except for brief periods to attend school or work.

I received my higher education from Flathead Valley Community College and the University of Montana. I also attended Humboldt State University in Arcata California for 1 quarter. Though I majored in Natural Resource Conservation, my other interest areas included education and Native American Studies. I fell a few credits short of a degree, but now I am seriously considering completing coursework necessary to fulfill my dream of earning a baccalaureate degree.

In additional to previously working for UM Upward Bound, I have held positions with UM's Student Support Services and BCC's Academic Enrichment Services.  All positions provided me valuable contact with students, and required I become versatile in completing the Federal Financial Aid application, securing scholarships, tutoring, and networking with education professionals throughout Montana and the Nation.
