 The Food Zoo

The Food Zoo is located in the Lommasson Center and is designed as the main choice for students participating in a meal plan option. The Food Zoo is a team oriented operation with plenty to offer motivated employees.

 The University Center Food Court

The UC Food Court is located on the second floor of the University Center and accepts cash, checks, UMoney and the All Campus Meal Plan. Restaurants include both self operated UDS kiosks as well as contracted national and regional vendor kiosks. There is a prep kitchen in the back that plays a key role in keeping all of the kiosks running smoothly. The UC Food Court is adjacent to the Copper Commons, which is a shared dining room and study lounge.

 La Peak

La Peak is located in the Lommasson Center. There are coffee drinks, hot spiced apple juice and crepes. La Peak even features fresh Bear Claw Bakery products. This is a state of the art facility, with real modern panache.

 Biz Buzz

Located in the Gallagher Business Building, Biz Buzz is the only venue on campus to feature Starbucks coffee. This location is prime for early morning coffee and pastry demands. The Business Building was built in 1995 and provides a light and open atmosphere. Amid a bustling lobby area the coffee cart is a popular venue. The coffee cart is currently a joint effort with the I.P.S.A. business club providing an opportunity for practical experience of running a business to members of the club.

 The Cascade Country Store

The Cascade Country Store has a fresh, open atmosphere and is located in the Lommasson Center. The Country Store combines a convenience store with the added options of a food court. The kiosks found in the Country Store include The Grizzly Grille, The Barrel Head Micro-Batched Pizzeria, Old El Paso Cantina, Cereal Bar and the Block & Barrel Deli. Both meal plan access and cash sales are generated in this operation.

 Cascade Country Store

 

 University Catering Services

University Catering Services sets the stage for events around campus. Catering is responsible for events ranging in size from small coffee service to large, full service meals. University Catering provides services ranging from outdoor BBQ events to black tie, 5 star gourmet meals served in the UC Ballroom. If there is an event on campus, University Catering is there to ensure exacting service with a friendly attitude. University Catering is a dynamic operation with a fast pace. If you have experience in catering, upscale restaurant wait service, banquet set up, or food production and presentation, enjoy hard work, and appreciate a fluid schedule, then Catering is the place for you.

Monday-Sunday 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.

Catering employees often perform all tasks involved in the successful presentation of an event.
Major tasks performed include event set up, bartending and meal service.

 Lommasson Center Production Kitchen

The Lommasson Center Production Kitchen prepares every meal for final consumption in The Food Zoo. Additional tasks include dorm snack preparation, special dietary meal prep, and high volume production for some items in the Cascade Country Store. The atmosphere is serious and fast paced. Interaction with other employees is critical and communication is a must. Sense of humor is required!

 UM Concessions

UM Concessions provides both traditional and innovative concessions for all Grizzly athletic events, concerts and shows held in the Adams Center, Washington-Grizzly Stadium and Dornblaser-South Campus Stadium. Our concession services also include national vendors such as Pizza Hut and Baskin-Robbins for the Adams Center, plus local venders such as Staggering Ox, Vagabond Vikings and Nani's Hawaiian Shaved Ice in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. If you are planning an event for these venues, please contact us and we will make every effort to accommodate your needs.

Home football game days 11 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

 The Bear Claw Bakery

The Bear Claw Bakery is located in the University Center. The Bear Claw Bakery provides fresh baked goods to all of the Dining Services operations daily.

 The Student Management Program

Although Student Management is not an operation, it is an opportunity within each operation of Dining Services. Student Management offers a number of position for those employees who wish to advance and learn about business management. Successful candidates will be responsible, self motivated, have a positive attitude, be team oriented, and be able to commit to working when needed.

An overview.

Mandatory minimum hours worked per week are required of all members of Student Management. Working with the professional staff in supervisory and support roles are the main areas of job responsibility. Scheduling is still flexible, however, there are specific times when Student Supervisors and Managers are required to work. Details are available at each dining unit.

Being a member of the Student Management Team is more demanding and requires a firm commitment. The rewards of Student Management include things such as on the job experience, a chance to contribute to improving the workplace, putting classroom theory to practical use, college credit is available for selected majors through an internship program ( check with your academic advisor for details ), higher pay, a great addition to your resume, and a Grizzly Meal Plan.

If you are interested in Student Management notify your unit manager. During the academic year, keep an eye on the Financial Aid job board for postings.( located in the Lommasson Center)
