At the University Dining Services, there are many positions available in a wide variety of job tasks. Student workers perform tasks that include kitchen prep, floor re-up, cashier, pizza cook, and barista specialist, just to name a few.

Dining Services also offers advancement opportunities. The Student Management Program offers positions such as Student Supervisor and Student Manager. Student Administrative Support positions are also available.

What are the benefits of working for Dining Services?

• On campus work, You don't need a car, no parking hassles or lost travel time going to and from work; especially nice during the winter months.
• Flexible schedules, A wide variety of shifts are available from 6:00am to 11:00pm seven days per week. Student workers are able to fit work around class schedules.
• Dining Services hires students, All students are encouraged to apply. Dining Services hires work study and non-work study students, as well as the many foreign students that enjoy working for Dining Services. *see frequently asked questions for more info.
• Free meal of $7.00 value, is earned after completion of a three hour shift. Dining Services is the only employer on campus that offers this benefit. A free meal is very nice if you are looking for a way to lower your meal plan cost.

Here's how it works. If you work one shift, of two or more hours per day, you are provided with a free meal directly following your shift. This can allow you to purchase a smaller meal plan based on only having to pay for two meals for each of the days worked instead of three.

• Advancement opportunities are available through the Student Management Program.
• Dining Services employs approximately 25 students each semester in higher paying, supervisory and managerial positions. These positions provide practical, real life, business experience and a solid leadership foundation. Responsibility increases as a member of Student Management. Keep in mind that perspective employers will look for increased responsibility when interviewing for jobs after graduation.
• Internships for credit are available. Imagine getting paid and earning college credits while working. Check with your academic advisor for details.
• Electronic paycheck deposit is available and encouraged. You don't need a local bank account if you have electronic deposit. No trips to the bank in the winter and your money is available for use on payday without doing any leg work. This is a bonus during Christmas vacation or if you just happen to be out of town on payday. With electronic deposit, you can write a check or access an ATM form anywhere and have your earned money at your finger tips.
