UMArts Box Office Policies

The UMArts Box Office’s policies vary from those of the Adams Center and other GrizTix outlets.  Some of the Adams Center’s policies are reproduced below.  For their full Box Office and Ticket Information click HERE

School of Theatre & Dance Events

School of Music Events

Odyssey of the Stars

Please note: Moscow Ballet, Garden City Ballet, and String Orchestra of the Rockies tickets are administered by the Adams Center, not UMArts.

Refunds/Exchanges

The UMArts Box Office cannot provide refunds.

Exchanges are available for events of the same type as the original ticket and of equal or greater value (i.e. School of Music tickets can be exchanged for School of Music tickets only, etc).  Exchanges CANNOT be made after the original ticket date/time has passed.  Original tickets must be present for exchanges to be made.  There is a $2 exchange fee.  Please call us at (406) 243-4581 for more information.

Purchasing Tickets

Ticket prices vary by department and production.  Discounts may be available to seniors, students, UM Faculty/Staff, and UM retirees.  Group rates are also sometimes available.  For more information, please call the UMArts Box Office at (406) 243-4581.

Payment Methods

The UMArts Box Office accepts Visa and MasterCard only at this time.  Cash and checks are accepted for window sales. 

All tickets must be guaranteed with payment in order to be printed and valid.  For certain events, the UMArts Box Office can place tickets on hold to be purchased at a later time.  These tickets will not be printed and released until such time as payment is received.  For more information, call the UMArts Box Office at (406) 243-4581.

GrizTix.com accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Convenience Fees

Tickets purchased online, by phone or at any GrizTix outlet are subject to a non-refundable per-ticket convenience fee.

Delivery Options


All UMArts tickets ordered via phone or online order will be placed at Will Call.  Print at Home and Mailing options are NOT available at this time.  Will Call is located at the UMArts Box Office up to one hour before the event, at which time it will be located at the event venue. 

Online Orders

You will receive a confirmation number via email after submitting payment for online orders.  If you do not receive this confirmation number, your order is not complete.  Please contact the UMArts Box Office if you encounter any error message/service interruption, or if you do not receive a confirmation number.  Only you may be aware of any problems that may occur during the purchase process. When your order is fully completed, you will receive a confirmation number from GrizTix via email. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN E-MAIL FROM GRIZTIX, YOU MAY NOT HAVE TICKETS.


While buying tickets online why did I get error messages?
Please make sure that you are not using multiple browser windows to search for tickets, as this may cause you to lose tickets. Please check your browser settings to make sure that you are accepting cookies from Griztix.com.  If you are encountering trouble when placing your order, please call UMArts at (406) 243-4581, and we will be happy to assist you.

Will Call

Tickets for UMArts events cannot be delivered by mail or as Print at Home tickets at this time.  All tickets must be physically picked up at Will Call by the purchaser or person designated.

Purchaser Pick-up

Will Call tickets are available for pick up at the UMArts Box Office during regular business hours or at the event venue one hour before every show.  The purchaser must present a photo ID to pick up Will Call tickets.  If picking up tickets immediately after ordering, please note that there may be delays as tickets may not have been printed.

An alternate person may be designated to pick up tickets.  The purchaser must call the box office and provide the name of the designated individual.  

Buyer Beware - Secondary Ticketing

Official ticket sales for UMArts and Adams Center events will ALWAYS be through GrizTix.  ALWAYS start at www.GrizTix.com to purchase tickets for events at the Adams Center or other events ticketed through GrizTix.

Many “secondary” ticket outlets lead you to believe that they are the official site for ticket purchases for Adams Center or GrizTix events.   To avoid problems with counterfeit, stolen, or cancelled tickets, always make your purchase through authorized GrizTix outlets only.

Children's Admittance

Unless otherwise specified, children age two years and older must have a ticket to gain admittance to events at UMArts and Adams Center venues.  Children under 2 years of age, without a ticket, must sit on an adult’s lap.  PLEASE BE AWARE: Some events require all attendees, regardless of age, to present a valid ticket for admission to the event. 

Please call (406) 243-4581 for more information on children’s admittance for specific events.  We also recommend calling if you have any questions or concerns about show content and child appropriateness.  

Lost Tickets

At this time, UMArts can reprint lost UMArts tickets when presented with proof of purchase and/or purchaser’s ID. 

We CANNOT reprint any tickets for events that are not administered by UMArts.

Cancelled Events

In the event of a canceled UMArts Event, the UMArts Box Office will post information on GrizTix.com and attempt to contact patrons to the greatest degree possible.  Refunds will be issued only through the UMArts Box Office. 

Ticket fees, convenience charges, and any other service charges are not refundable.

Tickets purchased via cash can only be refunded at the UMArts Box Office.

Refund credits on a credit card may take up to 14 days to appear.
