2019 Odyssey of the Stars

Odyssey of the Stars honors outstanding University of Montana performing and visual arts alumni and tells the story of their artistic journeys, showcasing the many different roads to success that an artist can travel.  Odyssey features some of UM's finest student performers and artists.  The production supports the College of Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship Fund.  Since its inception, Odyssey of the Stars has funded scholarships for 800 visual and performing arts students at the University of Montana.

The 2019 Odyssey of the Stars event will be held on March 2, 7:30pm, Dennison Theatre. Join us as we celebrate Emily Graslie, Chief Curiosity Correspondent for the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago and 2011 School of Art Alumna.


Emily currently stars in her own educational YouTube channel called "The Brain Scoop." Emily’s numerous awards and recognitions include: the American Alliance of Museum's Nancy Hanks Award for Professional Excellence; six-time Webby Award honoree and nominee in the ‘Online Science/Education Channel’ and ‘Web Personality/Host’ categories; a member of the 2018 Forbes '30 under 30' list in Education; 'Person of the Year’ in 2017 by the Chicago Tribune; and recently had a butterfly species names after her. The Wahydra graslieae is a butterfly species in the family Hesperiidae, and is found in Ecuador.
