Food Resources

Garden City Harvest Garden City Harvest provides community garden plots to Missoulians and offers volunteer opportunities where you can receive fresh veggies in exchange for helping out at one of their neighborhood farms.

Western Montana Growers Cooperative If you are interested in participating in a regularly delivered CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share or becoming a co-op member, this is a great place to start.

Missoula Food Bank If you’re ever in need of emergency food assistance, the Missoula Food Bank is the place to go. It’s easy, confidential, and free.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Double SNAP Dollars program As a student, if you work at least 20 hours a week and earn under $2000 a month, you may qualify for state food benefits. You can use your SNAP card at most local grocery stores, as well as the farmers markets, the Missoula Farmers Market and the Clark Fork Market. Receive a dollar-for-dollar match when you buy fruits and veggies (and starts for your garden) with your SNAP card at certain locations. The Missoula Community Food Co-op, both of the farmers markets, and the Western Montana Growers Co-op participate in the Double SNAP Dollars program.
