Undergraduate Advising Center

The Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) is an academic support unit within the Office for Student Success. The UAC, located in the Lommasson Center, is the academic advising home for all Undecided, freshman Business Administration, freshman Media Arts, Pre-Communication Studies, Pre-Nursing, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Psychology, undergraduate non-degree, and freshman Pre-Medical Sciences students in the above primary majors.

Our professional and peer advisors guide the student through the self-discovery process while promoting intellectual growth and the acquisition of sound decision making skills.

The UAC also provides assistance to students campus-wide regarding general education requirements, registration support, major selection and declaration, academic petitions and graduation applications. We serve as a central resource unit for faculty and department-based advisors and work collaboratively with recruitment, orientation and retention-based programs and services.

The mission of the UAC is to provide comprehensive academic advising and related programming supporting the academic success of students.  Measures of success include timely identification of majors reflective of the student’s interests and strengths as well as retention and degree completion.
