‘Mad Dogs’ Reading, Book Signing Planned
UM alumnus and acclaimed author James Grady will
read from and sign his newest novel, “Mad Dogs,”
from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 13, at The
Bookstore at UM.
The reading is part of Homecoming events at UM.
Grady, author of the classic “Six Days of the
Condor,” is donating profits from UM sales of “Mad
Dogs” to the University.
“I want to give something back,” said Grady, who
earned a journalism degree from UM in 1972 and was a
Distinguished Alumni Award winner last year. “This
is my chance.”
The book is a thriller launched from a fictional CIA
insane asylum that Dennis Lehane, author of “Mystic
River,” calls “a great, great read” that “starts off
with one of the best first sentences I’ve read in a
long time and goes full-throttle, pedal-to-the floor
right up until the final page.”
“Mad Dogs” may be ordered online from UM. The books
will be available for pickup during Homecoming or
shipped the following week.
