UM Posts Another Enrollment Record with Autumn Semester 

Total headcount enrollment at UM has set another all-time record. According to the UM Registrar's Office, autumn semester enrollment stands at 15,669, which is 27 more than the previous record set a year ago. Read more

Rally Encourages High SchoolersUnique Rally at UM Encourages
High School Freshmen to Graduate

In an unprecedented event, 920 high school freshmen from five Missoula County public schools gathered Sept. 27, on the turf of Washington-Grizzly Stadium at UM. The reason? To attend the first-of-its-kind Graduation Matters Missoula Freshman Rally, in which Montana's governor, Missoula's mayor, UM's president, Missoula County's public schools superintendent, fellow students and educators will encouraged them to graduate. Read more

Political Journalist to Discuss Elections at UM
Award-winning journalist Dante Chinni will share his perspective on the state of the electorate and the country during a panel discussion at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at UM. Read more

Math Circle Matches High Schoolers, Mentors
Missoula students in grades eight through 12 can increase their math prowess by drawing on the knowledge of UM math experts on campus this academic year. Read more

Physics, Astronomy Department Turns 100 

UM's Department of Physics and Astronomy will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a research conference, reception and observing night Friday, Sept. 30. Read more

MTPR Receives Grant to Expand Service
UM-based Montana Public Radio recently received a grant of $145,000 from the Murdock Charitable Trust with a challenge to raise an additional $25,000 in donations. Read more

UM Todd BuildingSchool of Extended & Lifelong Learning Installs Solar Panels 

Green is the new black, and UM's School of Extended & Lifelong Learning just donned the latest green accessories: solar panels. Installed earlier this month, UM's James E. Todd Building, which houses the school, now has 10 operating solar panels that can produce up to 2,300 watts of power. Read more 

Turnovers Lead to Grizzlies' First Loss to Sacramento State

Sacramento State senior quarterback Jeff Fleming ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more to lead his team to a 42-28 victory Sept. 24 over UM. The win was the first for the Hornets over the Grizzlies in 17 tries. Read more

Griz Harriers Host Montana Invitational 
The UM cross country teams will compete at home for the only time this fall when they host the Montana Invitational Friday, Sept. 30, at the UM Golf Course. The women's 5K race will start at 10 a.m.; the men's 8K race follows 10:30 a.m. Read more

Big Sky Season Opens for Soccer

The Grizzly soccer team will begin its short, four-week Big Sky Conference crucible Friday, Sept. 30, when the Grizzlies host Eastern Washington University in the league opener for both teams. Read more

Volleyball Drops
Five-Set Decision
The UM volleyball team lost a five-set decision Sept. 24 to Big Sky Conference leader Eastern Washington at the West Auxiliary Gym. UM will play this week's only match Friday, Sept. 30, at Montana State. Read more
Women's Tennis
Off to Solid Start
Every member of the Montana women's tennis team ended with a winning record as UM completed its first outing of the season last weekend in Pullman, Wash., at the Washington State Cougar Classic. Read more
