Can the Cats food drive
Griz Look to 'Can the Cats' During Food Drive

UM's annual "Can the Cats" food drive competition against Montana State University kicks off Saturday, Nov. 5, and runs through Saturday, Nov. 19. The winner of the competition - whoever collects the most pounds of food - will be announced during the Nov. 19 Griz-Cat game in Bozeman. The food UM collects will benefit the Missoula Food Bank. Read more 


Nonprofits Invited to Submit Grant Proposals
The UM School of Business Administration, in partnership with the Learning by Giving Foundation, is now accepting grant proposals from Missoula County nonprofit organizations. Read more

Project Raises Awareness of Sexual Violence
UM's Student Assault Resource Center will raise awareness of sexual violence in the community by hosting the Clothesline Project, Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 24-26, in the University Center. Read more

Honor Society Plans Cancer Fundraiser

The UM chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society is sponsoring a fundraiser for breast cancer patient support. Read more

UM Transportation Fee Increase Pays Off

A recent increase of the student transportation fee at UM has produced results. The $4 increase, which went into effect at the start of autumn semester, is used to improve bus service at UM. Read more

International Conflict Expert to Speak Oct. 26
A leading expert on international conflicts and post-conflict transitions will present "Negotiating With Terrorists: A Firsthand Account of Discussions With Tribal and Religious Leaders in North Waziristan" Oct. 26, at UM. Read more 

'Pianissimo!' Concert Oct. 21 at UM

The UM School of Music will present the fourth annual "Pianissimo!" concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, in the UM Music Recital Hall. Read more

UM Professor Honored for Sustainability Efforts
Missoula's Sustainable Business Council has named Vicki Watson, a professor in UM's Environmental Studies Program, its Sustainability Advocate of the Year. Read more
Mount Sentinel M Trail
M Trail Volunteer Day
Set for Saturday, Oct. 22
The Friends of the M Trail and Run Wild Missoula will hold a volunteer M Trail maintenance day Saturday, Oct. 22, on Mount Sentinel. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and volunteers are welcome to drop in for any amount of time. Read more

Day of the Dead Steamroller Printmaking at UM Oct. 27
Art students from UM and community schools will gather outside the University Theatre from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, for the annual Day of the Dead Steamroller Print Project. Read more

Crown of the Continent Symposium Oct. 21-22

Massive grizzly bears, insatiable mountain pine beetles and relentless climate change are just a few of the topics on tap for the inaugural Crown of the Continent Symposium on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22, at UM. Read more

Grizzly Soccer Logs Victory in Pocatello

Junior Ashley Tombelaine scored twice, including the game-winning penalty kick, to lead the Montana soccer team to a 2-1 victory Oct. 14 over Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho. Read more

Men's Tennis Travels to Las Vegas Tourney

The men's tennis team is on the road this week playing at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Intermountain Regional Tournament in Las Vegas through Saturday, Oct. 22. Read more 

Tennis Duo Makes Championship Finals

The Montana women's tennis duo of Heather Davidson and Laurence Pelchat made it to the finals of the ITA Intermountain Regional Championships held Oct. 16 in Las Vegas. Read more

Harriers Hit Their Stride in Spokane
The men's cross country team had its best performance in two years, and the Griz women knocked off Washington State and took second Oct. 14 at the Inland Northwest Classic in Spokane, Wash. Read more

Griz Defeat Portland State Vikings 30-24 

The Grizzlies played an outstanding second half a to register a 30-24 come-from-behind victory Oct. 15 over the Portland State Vikings during a key Big Sky Conference game in UM's Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Read more

Volleyball Team Swats Sac State Hornets 

Senior Amy Roberts and sophomore Kayla Reno combined for 33 kills, and Montana recorded a season-high 17 blocks in the Grizzlies' 3-1 victory Oct. 14 over Sacramento State at the West Auxiliary Gym. Read more
