the construction?
The President's Office has compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions
and answers about the University, including the following. Future newsletters will carry
others.
Question: The University has spent more than $130 million on building
projects during the last five years. What percentage of that money came from the
taxpayers, from University bonds and from private donations?
Answer: $145 million has been spent for construction and renovation of
facilities on UM's four campuses. Of that amount 24 percent came from state funds, 11
percent from private donations, 62 percent from the issuance of revenue bonds and 3
percent from University local funds.
