As Montana’s flagship liberal arts campus, UM’s support for academic freedom is unwavering. UM provides a safe environment where students can explore the world of knowledge. President Dennison’s goals include continuing to increase the diversity of the students, faculty and staff to provide an enriched campus culture. The president has pledged that the University will pursue more partnerships — especially with local communities, businesses and industries, public schools, community and tribal colleges, state and local governments, and universities abroad — and expand the training and technology transfer programs to help strengthen communities and promote economic growth and opportunity statewide.
