Celebrate UM's 119th Birthday with Charter Day Events Feb. 16
UM will celebrate its 119th birthday on Thursday, Feb. 16, with a noon-hour party and an evening Charter Day awards ceremony and reception. The birthday festivities are held each year to celebrate the anniversary of UM's chartering by the Montana Legislature in 1893 and to honor the University and its dedication to excellence. All events are free and open to the public. Read more

'U Matter' Forum Seeks Student Input on Sexual Assault
UM students are encouraged to weigh in on the issue of sexual assault during a participatory forum from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in the University Center Ballroom. The "U Matter" forum is designed and intended to engage small-group conversation on sexual assault, perceptions and safety, as well as encourage student involvement in combating issues discovered through a University investigation on alleged sexual assaults on and off campus. Fire Scientists Land $3 Million Grant

Community Lecture Series Begins Feb. 21
The 2012 Community Lecture Series at UM will begin Tuesday, Feb. 21, and tickets are now on sale. This year's series, "Seeking Justice: Hope in Hard Times," features lectures by six outstanding UM faculty members. Read more

Artists to Demonstrate Ceramics Skills
Three resident artists from the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena will demonstrate their skills in ceramic art during the annual Archie Bray Day on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at UM. Events are free and open to the public. Read more

UM Employee Hosts Opening Reception for International Doll Exhibit
Mona Mondava of UM's Foreign Student and Scholar Services will hold an opening reception for her "Cultural Dolls" exhibit from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at the Zootown Arts Community Center, located at 235 N. First St. W. The event is free and open to the public. The Missoula International Friendship Program will be on hand to provide information about its no-host program.

Relationship expert David Coleman, better known as "The Dating Doctor," will present "Making Relationships Matter" at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, in Urey Lecture Hall at UM. Read more

Griz Dominate ISU 76-40, Now 10-1 in Big Sky
Junior guard Will Cherry scored 21 points, senior center Derek Selvig had an excellent all-around game and the UM defense was stellar as the Grizzlies defeated the visiting Idaho State Bengals 76-40 on Feb. 6 in a Big Sky Conference contest in UM's Dahlberg Arena. Read more

Idaho State Bengals Take Down Lady Griz
Idaho State locked down Montana defensively for the second time this season and did just enough offensively to remain atop the Big Sky Conference standings with a 54-48 victory Feb. 6 over the Lady Griz in Pocatello, Idaho. Read more

Griz Track and Field Teams Log Breakout Performances at Idaho Open
The Montana track and field teams had eight individual-event victories and added three new Big Sky Conference qualifiers Feb. 4 at the Idaho Indoor Open in Moscow, Idaho. The meet was the Grizzlies' most successful of the indoor season and an important breakthrough with the conference meet three weeks away. Read more

Women's Tennis Falls to New Mexico on the Road
The UM women's tennis team dropped a nonconference match to New Mexico on Feb. 4, 5-2, in Bozeman. Read more
This weekend the team heads to Portland, Ore., for a three-match series that will include its first conference match of the year. Montana will play the University of Portland on Friday, Portland State on Saturday and Seattle University on Sunday. Read more
