General Information
Scenery and Equipment Loading
The University Theatre has a loading dock equipped with a hydraulic lift located on the NE corner of the building. Access is through a single 8 ' wide x 14' high garage door. Trucks may back up to this door and the lift will rise to the truck bed level. The lift platform is 8' x 5' 7". Access to the stage from the load in area is through a 7' 6" x 13' 6" high door with sound lock mechanism. It is approximately 35 ' from loading dock to stage.
Dressing Rooms
Two unisex bathrooms are located in stage right warm-up area, adjacent to the loading dock. This 40' x 37' area has been partitioned into a dressing room/green room area. There is one dressing room on the second floor, backstage. It has two full makeup tables with lighting, two restrooms, and a slop sink. The space is divided, and has an outside and a stage entrance. Classrooms, elsewhere in the building, can be provided for additional space with advance notice and based on availability. There are no laundry facilities in the building.
Lobby
The lobby has a box office equipped with two phone lines, one of which can be used for the GRIZ TIX system. There is a concession window maintained by the Theatre and another available to the Renter. Non-handicapped accessible restrooms are located on the balcony level and handicapped accessible restrooms are located off the lobby rotunda.
Handicapped Seating
Six sections of seats may be removed to allow wheelchair seating. These spaces may be accessed through the double doors on the north side of the orchestra level. An accessible entrance to the building is nearby as well as ramped hallways to the lobby and backstage areas. Earphones and receivers for the hearing impaired are available at the box office at show time.
