The Vet Centers of Montana would like to thank you for you service to a grateful nation. We stand ready to assist you in your process to return to your homes and families.
If you have recently returned from a conflict operation, you may find yourself repeating the following comments:
“I know something is bothering me, but I can’t put my finger on it.”
“I have trouble sleeping.”
“I feel jumpy all the time.”
“I get depressed, angry, withdrawn or moody.”
“I have bad dreams about my experiences in the war.”
“I find it hard to get close to my spouse, partner, children or other family members.”
“I feel tired or exhausted all the time.”
“I seem to be more irritable and anxious than I was before I deployed.”
“I can’t concentrate or remember things that I want to remember.”
“I am having trouble succeeding in school.”
“I am sleeping way too much.”
“I am concerned about my abuse of alcohol or drugs.”
“I feel like I’m doing this all alone/by myself”
Many of these comments are normal for the service member that is readjusting after a combat experience, but you may want to seek help if the symptoms persist. If you or one of your family members is concerned about these kinds of thoughts; help is available from a Vet Center.
