Take Back the Night is an event dedicated to protesting the violence and fear which permeates the lives of women worldwide. This years event will include a rally and a march that will wind through downtown and end at Caras Park. At Caras Park hot beverages, and snacks will be provided to warm up before listening to three speakers from the community. We will also feature music and live art. Also, the SARC advocates will be present and available to speak with anyone who feels the need to. The event it set to take place on Friday November 4th. The rally will begin at 4:15 at the Griz statue at the UofM; bring your own glass jar to hold a candle and your own protest sign if you want to. We will begin to march at 4:45 and we will provide a route map and chants. We aim to create awareness and dialouge in our community! Come march with us!
For this year's Day of Dialogue, the WRC will be teaming up with WORD for a multi-perspective panel discussion on women and homlessness. Ojn October 27th at 2:40 in UC room 331 join us and several distinguished members of the community to discuss this topic. In an effort to combat unrealistic beauty ideals and negative self-image, The Women's Resource Center has teamed up with Out Words. We are presenting a creative writing and art exhibit in the University Center. If you want to submit art or writing pieces, download the submission form here and bring the form and the piece by the office in the University Center, room 210. If no one is in the office, you may also drop your work off next door at KBGA.
Our absurdly popular drag show and fundraiser for the Vagina Monologues is planned for Friday February 1st at The Palace Lounge. We are looking for performers and everyone is welcome. If you want to perform fill out the performer application and email it to us or drop it by the office.
V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls by raising funds and awareness through benefit productions of Eve Ensler's award-winning play "The Vagina Monologues."
The 'V' in V-Day stands for Victory, Valentine and Vagina.

This years production will take place on Friday February 15th in the Dennison Theatre. Tickets are available through Griz Tix. Door at 6:30, show at 7:00. This year we will feature the One Billion Rising Campaign and a special performance by Unity Dance and Drum. We will also feature a silent auction.
