WPA Workshops
The Writing Center offers a 50-minute workshop two or three times prior to each WPA exam (see dates for Autumn 2009, Spring 2010, and Summer 2010 below). The workshop provides an overview of the WPA requirement and how to prepare for the exam. You do not need to register for the workshop, but handouts and seating are limited.
Because there is no class time associated with the WPA, we strongly recommend that students who have not yet taken the exam attend the WPA workshop. We separate fact from fiction at the workshop so that you can be successful on your first attempt.
Students who have already attempted the exam should make an appointment to meet one-on-one with Writing Center staff instead of attending the workshop.
The WPA workshop does not teach you what to say in your essay exam. Instead, we review faculty expectations for upper-division academic performance as demonstrated on the WPA.
All WPA workshops are held from 4:10-5:00 pm.
