Environmental Science and Sustainability
Solutions for a Changing Planet
Environmental Science and Sustainability bridges science and practice, so you graduate with the knowledge and skills to solve complex environmental problems and advance sustainability. This interdisciplinary program brings together courses from all four of the college’s departments and integrates a range of relevant disciplines. We emphasize scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning. You can specialize in ecosystem science and restoration, environmental policy and planning, sustainable livelihoods and communities, climate science and environmental change, or water resources.
Students in the highly-flexible resource conservation option work with a faculty mentor to design their own emphasis. Our students participate in field labs, field courses, internships, study abroad programs, capstone projects and undergraduate research to better understand how science and practice come together and to prepare for jobs or graduate school.
