ASUM Community Garden
The ASUM Community Garden is located behind the Lewis and Clark Apartments just before the intersection of South Higgins and Pattee Canyon Road. The garden is operated jointly by Garden City Harvest and the ASUM Sustainability Center. The ASUM Community Garden is a part of the Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM), included in the bylaws, and used by students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
The garden has over 70 plots that can be rented every summer. The garden also serves as a community gathering space and gardening education hub. In addition, several plots are set aside as Food Aid Plots which provide the Phillipsburg Food Bank with much needed fresh produce.
The community garden provides participants with a 15 by 15 foot plot, tools, water, compost, straw, common space, a few starts and seeds, and the knowledge and guidance of a garden coordinator and leadership team. Check out the Community Garden Tips here.
