Personal Summary
Becky works with the Center for Environmental Health Sciences in the laboratory of Dr. Andrij Holian where she is interested in understanding the mechanisms of respiratory inflammation. Becky studies the role of lysosomal BK potassium ion channels in NLRP3 inflammasome activity by using the characterized toxicity of crystalline silica with the goal of better informing the development of therapies for silicosis and other inflammatory diseases.
