Personal Summary
Jess (she/her) is a 5th year Toxicology Ph.D. student in the lab of Dr. Andrij Holian in the Center for Environmental Health Sciences. Her dissertation research combines the fields of respiratory, immuno- and nano-toxicology. Her research is focused on investigating the mechanisms responsible for sex-differences in nanoparticle-induced lung disease; specifically, the way steroid hormones influence alveolar macrophage function and phenotype to make female animals more sensitive to type II inflammation following nanoparticle exposure.
Jess is also serving her second term as co-president of UM's Graduate & Professional Student Association.
