Personal Summary
Jay earned his B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a minor in Biology from the University of Rhode Island in May of 2019. Following graduation he joined Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a research technician in the X-Ray crystallography core. There he primarily was in charge of recombinant protein expression using transgenic E. coli host cells to express various proteins of interest for their oncology research. He joined the University of Montana in August of 2019 and currently he is a Ph.D. candidate in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Design. Jay is interested in pharmacology of NMDA receptors, characterizing various allosteric modulators of this receptor. He is currently using two-electrode voltage clamp recordings in Xenopus oocytes expressing recombinant NMDA receptors to explore the complex pharmacology of the various modulators. Jay enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, and just about anything else involving the great outdoors of Montana.
