Wildlife-Friendly Fencing on Federal Public Lands

Research Associate Josh Elliot’s report summarizes U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management policies pertinent to fencing and provides an analysis of those policies to illuminate the extent to which agency decision makers are required to consider, justify, or compel the use of wildlife-friendly fencing. The report also analyzes wildlife-friendly fencing in the context of revising National Forest plans by the USFS and Resource Management Plans by the BLM and provides recommendations for policy improvements.
