Thank you for supporting your graduate student's application to UM BRIDGES.

UM BRIDGES is an NSF-funded National Research Traineeship (NRT) program focused on the nexus of food, energy, and water systems. UM BRIDGES trainees participate in an innovative, interdisciplinary, cross-campus training program, and are eligible for funding to support travel and supplies related to research at the food-energy-water nexus.

Please be sure to read the required training elements before filling out this form. For additional questions, please contact the UM BRIDGES Program Coordinator.

If you are unable to fill out the form on line, you may print out a hard copy form and submit it via campus mail (Alisa Wade, Department of Geosciences).

UM BRIDGES has two application review deadlines: June 1 and August 1. Note: all students must start the traineeship in the fall semester. Successful applicants will be notified within 60 days of receipt of their completed application or by August 25th, whichever comes first.
