Media Arts

Why a Degree in Media Arts?

The mission of the School of Media Arts is to provide degree programs tailored to meet the varied needs of students seeking to embark on careers in filmmaking and/or integrated digital media.

Media Arts offers specializations in both Integrated Digital Media and Digital Filmmaking. IDM specialization allows students to maximize their artistic potential through the study of emerging digital technologies and their aesthetic application. They will be trained in the use of industry-standard software programs, and they will create integrated work in new mediums.

To be successful in this dynamic field, students need to challenge themselves and their peers technically and creatively. Both areas of specialization in the Media Arts Program focus on learning how to communicate an artistic vision and how to actualize it in the desired medium. The opportunities for real life work are abundant in this field and many of the students take advantage of getting experience in the community and beyond while pursuing their degree.
