Day of Presentations
All presenters will have 15 minutes total (12 minutes for presentation & 3 minutes allotted for questions) for each presenter. There will be a moderator with signs in each room to enforce these time limits. You will be notified of your scheduled presentation time by email. Please make sure to check and coordinate times with any co-presenters. The GradCon committee has decided that in order to participate in the conference, all presenters must be present in the room for the full one hour block as an presenter/audience member.
All oral presentations will be held in one of the designated 300 rooms on the third floor of the University Center. Rooms will be equipped with an LCD projector, laptop, clicker to advance slides, wipe-board & markers.
In order to access your presentation at the conference, you have two options:
- Upload your presentation onto the laptops in the designated room the day of the conference from 7:30-8:45 am.
- Bring your presentation on a flash drive and be ready to use it!
In order to ensure access to your presentation after the conference, we encourage you to submit your presentation to ScholarWorks.
The Paw Print at the Mansfield Library is once again offering to print posters for this year’s conference. For graduate student participants, the Paw Print will offer the print rate of $22.50 per poster. Should you decide to use the thicker Matte or Semi-Matte (low-gloss) the price goes to $33.75 each or upgraded to fabric or special material for $46.60 each. In order to “best fit” your poster in the conference space provided, it is recommended that the dimensions of your poster should be either 36 x 44 or 44 x 36.
In order to facilitate printing at the Paw Print, submit your PDF poster file online to ScholarWorks and check the box if you want the Paw Print to print your poster. Once the file is uploaded and the box is checked, the Paw Print will notify you when the poster is ready for pick up. Monday, February 24th at 5PM is the deadline to submit posters to the Paw Print (through ScholarWorks) for printing.
Regardless of whether or not you utilize the Paw Print’s services, we highly encourage you to submit your poster to ScholarWorks.
Each presenter will be provided with individual space for their poster on the display boards located in the UC Ballroom. Poster dimensions should not exceed 36" x 44". You will be assigned a poster number and must be available to discuss your poster during the 5:00-6:00pm poster session. The “Best of GradCon” Awards Ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00pm. Make sure to check and coordinate times with any co-presenters.
Posters may be hung 8:00am-12:30pm or 1:30-3:30pm the day of the conference and remain there throughout the day (hanging help & pins will be available). Posters may be removed after the Poster Session. If you do not remove your poster, it will be recycled in the bins provided.
Each performance or art exhibit will be presented in an open, designated space in the UC Ballroom (i.e. sculptures, group presentations, etc.). Set-up times are from 7:30am - 12:00pm. If wanting to be considered for a "Best of GradCon" Award, you must provide your set-up explanation when submitting your abstract. This also ensures that your presentation will have adequate space to display or present as intended! The conference will supply the presentation space in the ballroom (no stage), large TV, laptop, and seating for the audience. Any further set up requirements will need to be provided by the presenter (i.e. display stands, microphone, speakers, musical equipment, etc.). Remember set ups should be fairly simple - there is only a 5 minute transition time between presentations. Please email conference coordinator, Michelle Eckert with any additional questions or concerns.
