The University of Montana, in collaboration with the Universiti of Putra Malaysia, Perdana University in Malaysia, the National University of Singapore, the National Science and Technology Development Agency of Thailand, the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research of Singapore, and the National Supercomputing Center of Singapore, is organizing two advanced studies workshops in computational biology. Each workshop is two weeks long. The first was held in 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand. Scientists from the USA, Europe, and Asia will be present as instructors, as they were at the first workshop. Both workshops are supported by NSF award # 1953405. The 2022 workshop was also funded by an Asi@Connect Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN) program grant. We would like to have Bangkok 2022 attendees return for the 2023 workshop and we are recruiting at least three new students who are citizens, residents, or nationals of the USA for the Singapore 2023 workshop.

In addition, the institutions mentioned above have joined hands with Dhaka University in Bangladesh, Bezmialem Vakif University in Turkey, PT Riset Perkebunan Nusantara, Indonesia, University of Arizona and Kent State University, USA, to organize two additional workshops in Indonesia and Bangladesh in 2023, primarily for the undergraduate and master's students.

Note that a parallel remote session of this workshop will be held at Kent State University, USA. Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) and engineers from Kent State University are providing the computational resources for this workshop.

3) Cross-Disciplinary Training in Computational Biology for Graduate Students.
June 12-25, 2022 - Bangkok, Thailand.

The workshop was completed in the summer of 2022 at the National Science and Technology Development Agency of Thailand. Thirty-seven students from Asia and the USA participated in the workshop.  Jetstream has provided the computational resources for this workshop. COMPBIO22 participants will be eligible for continued and more advanced instruction through participation in COMPBIO23 in Singapore.
