Aug. 19, 2020: We Are Here to Ensure You Succeed

Dear Griz Family,

Congratulations on the start of a new academic year. We are thrilled to welcome our returning students back to campus and welcome new Grizzlies to our UM family.

At UM, our highest priority is keeping you learning safely this fall. Regardless if you are choosing to take classes in person, online, or a mix of both, we are encouraged to see so many students continue their education amidst all of this uncertainty.

We have spent the summer preparing for your arrival by putting new procedures in place that will keep you, our faculty and our staff healthy this semester. Please take a moment to watch our COVID-19 safety presentation so you are fully up-to-speed on all of the changes we have made across campus to promote safety and health.

Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up your Healthy Griz Kit in the East Auxiliary Gym at the Adams Center. This kit contains two reusable masks, hand sanitizer, a bottle of disinfectant spray and a cloth. This kit will play a critical role in our ability to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on our campus this fall. Please be sure to routinely check the “COVID Information” page on the UM website for updates on University-wide policies and procedures.

While our campus may look a little different this semester, please know that our top priority remains the same – we are here to ensure you succeed. Please utilize our student support services and don’t hesitate to ask questions.

The start of the fall semester is always a special time at UM. Even with our changes to combat COVID-19, we hope you will take advantage of everything UM and Missoula has to offer.

I am confident that by working together to protect each other’s health and safety, we will collectively conquer this challenge and write a unique chapter in our UM story.

Best of luck this semester, and please don’t forget to wash your hands, wear a mask and practice safe social distancing.
