Symptomatic COVID-19 Testing Now FREE for Students
Dear UM Students,
I want to thank you for the responsible behaviors I continue to see across campus: mask-wearing, social distancing and use of hand sanitizers and surface disinfectants. Unlike many institutions that are grappling with high numbers of positive cases and outbreaks across their campuses, we continue to see indications that our mitigation efforts are helping to keep our symptomatic tests and positive cases low. We know that can change quickly, however, so your continued cooperation and effort to reduce risks for yourself and our campus community is appreciated!
I write today to let you know that COVID-19 testing for symptomatic students will now be offered free of charge at Curry Health Center. The University will waive the $25 fee for students, and results typically are available within one hour. If a student already has received a COVID test at Curry, we will refund the $25 charge to their student account.
If you are experiencing symptoms, even mildly, I encourage you to call Curry Health Center at 406-243-2122 and speak to our health care providers. They can answer questions and make arrangements for a COVID-19 test.
You should consider being tested if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Fever or chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
You also should get tested if you have been contacted by the Missoula-City County Health Department because you are a close contact of a positive case. Call 406-243-2122 to give us information and get scheduled for screening.
Curry Health Center can test symptomatic patients and deliver same-day results in most circumstances. Students can access these results on the Health Portal.
