Personal Summary

Emily Ruskovich grew up in the Idaho Panhandle on Hoodoo Mountain. In 2019, she became the fourth American ever to wih the Dublin International Literary Award for her debut novel, Idaho (Random House, 2017). She is also the recipient of the Idaho Book Award, the Pacific Northwest Book Award, and an O. Henry Prize. Her novel has been translated into a dozen languages. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Paris Review, Zoetrope, One Story, The Virginia Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. Idaho has also been optioned for a film starring Elisabeth Moss. A graduate of the Iowa Writer's Workshop, Emily now teaches in the graduate program in fiction at the University of Montana. She lives with her husband and two small daughters in the mountains of Alberton.
