Summer Camp Schedule

Please refer to your "week before camp" emails for details about how the following schedule is changed as COVID-19 guidelines change.

Each week campers have the opportunity to take part in three swim instruction lessons, fitness activities, outdoor adventures, educational sessions and craft activities to go along with each weekly morning activity theme. The following is a general timeline of what to expect each day:

Monday - Friday

  • 7:30am - 8:30am: Optional pre-rec hours
  • 8:30am - 9:00am:  Drop off 
  • 9:00am - 12:00pm:  Activity theme of the week
  • 12:00pm - 1:00pm:  Lunch (campers provide their own lunch)
  • 1:00pm - 3:15pm:  Swim/Outdoor/Educational Activity/Crafts
  • 3:15pm - 3:45pm:  Pickup 
  • 3:15pm - 5:30pm:  Optional after-rec hours 

Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons the campers will receive swim instruction.  It takes a while to finalize all of the details that go into each day outside of the morning themes.  We update this information as we confirm special guests and other university and community groups and familiarize ourselves with the talents and skills of our new counselors.  While we are busy planning, please feel free to take a look at an overview of the activities from Tuesday and Thursday each week from a previous year. 

Each day during the morning session, we check children in between 8:30 and 9 a.m. After check-in we play a large group game with all campers which is coordinated by our counselors.  Following the group game, we break the camp into three groups: the Cubs (kindergarten and first graders), the Bears (second- and third-graders) and the Griz (fourth and fifth graders).  Although all the children will be focusing on the morning theme of the week, the curriculum is designed to be age-specific for each group.

We break for lunch at noon and typically find a shady or dry location to eat (we ask children to pack their own lunches).  After children finish their lunches, we facilitate free play by letting the children choose the activity. They can pick from a variety of options such as a large game of capture the flag, sidewalk chalk, reading books or tag games.  From 1-3:15 p.m., we break the children into age groups.  On swim lesson days, we break them up into three groups according to age and swim abilities.  Each group is in the pool for about 45 minutes. The first 30 minutes is swim lessons and the last 15 is free swim. While one group is in the pool, the others take part in the activities listed below (some of these activities will be updated as we secure guests and get to know our counselors abilities and special skills).

Session 8: Aug 2-6 | Outdoor Adventure (Rafting, Biking)

Session 9: Aug. 9-13 | Basketball
