Update from Campus Dining

Campus Dining’s top priority is to ensure we can continue to serve the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Montana. As we continue to put the safety of our campus family first, we will continue to assess what services we can provide while also ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff. As the largest employer of students, our locations have been impacted by labor needs and we will continue to adapt to current circumstances by adjusting operation hours for each of our locations.

Our goal is to continue to keep you updated as we adapt to the quickly changing world around us. Campus Dining follows the guidance from the Missoula City-County Health Department and the CDC.

Intensive cleaning routines & guest safety measures

  • All service counters, beverage areas, tables and chairs, entries, door handles, and points of sale are cleaned and sanitized every 30 minutes.

  • Plexiglas shields have been installed, where appropriate.

  • We have eliminated self-service items and service methods throughout our locations.

  • All guests and employees are required to wear face coverings and maintain proper social distancing unless consuming food and beverage.  

  • The Food Zoo will extend all meal periods and close for 30 minutes between each meal period.

  • We have developed traffic flow patterns and seating arrangements for each of our venues, allowing for social distancing and discouraging congregating.

  • Group dining is permitted, but may not exceed 10 guests per table as defined by the Missoula City-County Health Department.

  • Personal reusable containers are no longer permitted in our locations, we require our guests to use our disposable/compostable containers.

  • We have launched our UM Campus Dining Mobile application enabling guests to place orders in advance at Big Sky Burgers n’ Fries.

Our Main Office will continue to be open to process deposits or answer questions regarding dining plans or our locations. We will close each day from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch. With the strength of the UM family, together we will all work through these challenging times. We will continue to be transparent on any significant changes to our operations and will work to disseminate any new developments as they occur. Campus Resources

The University of Montana is closely monitoring the coronavirus and following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. UM is staffing an information hotline to answer questions from students, families, faculty, staff and the public. The call center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can reach the hotline by calling 406-243-INFO (4636). Updates to how COVID-19 affects campus also are on UM's Coronavirus Information webpage

IMPORTANT: If you develop fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing or have been in close contact with someone who has had a positive test for COVID-19, call CHC (406) 243-4330 to discuss your illness and plan for how we will see you at our clinic. Curry Health Center now offers a cold and cough clinic. Please use the west entrance to access this clinic.
