Personal Summary
I am a PhD candidate working with Dr. Solomon Dobrowski. I am broadly interested in understanding how ecological communities might change in response to recent climate changes and in providing tools for climate adaptation. For my PhD research I study climate analogs as an impacts forecasting method and use climate analogs to project possible forest distribution changes. I returned to graduate school after working as a natural resources manager for California State Parks. My work experience motivates my research. I am interested in creating science that is useful for management applications and in figuring out ways to make existing science more usable. Working for California State Parks has pushed me to recognize that what I though were ecological systems, really are socio-ecological systems. I have an interest in the social science side of natural resources issues. My research is funded by the NSF Bridges fellowship and Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center.
