Emily provides advisement and support to UM students looking for experiential learning opportunities such as volunteering, internships, micro-internships, and undergraduate research. Emily focuses on connecting with local non-profit partners that offer opportunities for students to get involved and engaged in the community. Please set up a NAVIGATE appointment with her if you need support with these opportunities or getting connected to non-profit folks in a specific sector of interest. If you are a non-profit organization with a project in mind or would like to discuss possible collaboration with our department, please contact Emily as well.
Emily transitioned from a part-time role as the Experiential Learning and Career Success (ELCS) Peace Corps Representative to a full-time ELCS staff member in the summer of 2021. Emily is happy to be serving the students of UM and the Missoula community, and to act as a resource, providing mutually beneficial opportunities that will keep our UM campus and Missoula community thriving by working together.
Prior to joining ELCS, Emily graduated from UM with a degree in English and then went on to serve as an AmeriCorps NCCC member for a year and a Peace Corps volunteer in Guizhou, China for twenty-seven months. Emily grew up in Kalispell and has felt her deep roots in a community-focused state, combined with her experiences with community engagement while traveling domestically and abroad, have led her to this work. Emily enjoys hiking, swimming, and floating the river with good friends.
