Why A Degree In Nursing?

Earning an Associate of Science degree in Nursing (ASN) at Missoula College prepares students to be excellent Registered Nurses (RNs) who will play a vital role in patient care and recovery. Students obtain knowledge and skills to promote health, prevent disease, help patients cope with illness, and be an advocate for patients, families, and communities. RNs are employed in many different healthcare settings providing direct patient care, assessing and recording symptoms, reactions, progress, and outcomes. RNs also collaborate with other healthcare team members to help patients take steps to improve or maintain their health.

After earning an ASN degree, students may choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a graduate-level degree to become an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).
