Experiential Learning and Career Success is excited to host Career Fairs, in-person, during fall 2021 and spring 2022. Employers can access the Career Fair registration area in Handshake. Attend our Career Fairs to engage with students seeking jobs, internships, and experiential learning opportunities. We offer several fairs each academic year.

Experiential Learning and Career Success invites you to the University of Montana Big Sky Fair on Wednesday, April 6th. This is a great opportunity for students and employers to connect about full-time employment opportunities.

This fair is intended for employers and organizations in all industry areas recruiting for: 

  • Post-graduation, full-time employment

Details:

When: Wednesday, April 6th, 2022  from 11 a.m. - 2 pm MST

Where: University Center Ballroom, 32 Campus Drive, Missoula Montana

Employers Attending: Employers from all sectors 

Students Attending: All UM students are invited to attend. Students nearing graduation or who are UM ALUM will be highly encouraged to attend.

Cost:

  • Students: Free
  • Non-Profit Employers: $175
  • For-Profit Employers: $275

Experiential Learning and Career Success invites you to attend the UM Educators' Career Fair. This is an excellent opportunity for recruiters from Montana school districts/out-of-state schools districts and UM Education students to connect about full-time teaching opportunities.

This fair is intended for employers and organizations seeking UM students for full-time teaching positions. 

Details:

When: Monday, March 14th, 2022  from 11 am - 2 pm MST

Where: University Center Ballroom, 32 Campus Drive, Missoula Montana

Employers Attending: Montana and Out-of-State School Districts

Students Attending: UM Education students who are looking for full-time teaching opportunities

Cost:

  • Students: Free
  • Montana School District Registration: $175
  • Out-of-State School District Registration: $275
  • District offering an information Session: $75

Students Attending: All UM students are invited to attend. Students from the Missoula College West Campus will be highly encouraged to attend.

ELCS, in partnership with Volunteers in Action,  plans one-time service projects on Saturdays at different nonprofits in Missoula several times a month during the school year.  Past Service Saturdays include socializing cats at Animeals, serving food at the Poverello Center, harvesting vegetables with Garden City Harvest, raking leaves for the elderly through Missoula Aging Services, and much more!

Jan. 29, 2022: Join ELCS and AniMeals for our first Service Saturday of the Spring Semester at AniMeals! If you are interested in career fields involving animal welfare or non-profit management, or just enjoy helping out and playing with cats, this could be a great opportunity for you!

Past Events:

Jan. 14-17, 2022: Join ELCS and Montana Campus Compact for the MLK Day: Read for Peace and volunteer in kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms to read students age-appropriate books about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and facilitate activities that celebrate his legacy.

Nov. 13th, 2021: Habitat For Humanity needs volunteers to help in the celebration of a newly built home for one of our Missoula community members! Help decorate cares that will be a part of a drive-by parade put on to welcome and congratulate this new homeowner!

Nov. 13th, 2021: Adventure Cycling needs help with writing small personal notes and thank-yous to their current members.

October 23, 2021: Volunteer to help with preparing and serving lunch, and general kitchen assistance and clean-up at the Poverello Center.

Sept. 25, 2021: Join Tangle Free, on National Public Lands Day, for a fence pull on Mount Jumbo.

Sept. 19, 2021: Join us in helping Celebrate 25 Years of Flagship. Help with activities ... set-up, tear-down, and games.

Sept. 10-12, 2021: Join us for the Great Burn Service Weekend and hike the state trail line to Pearl Lake. We will monitor trail conditions, clean up campsites and pull St. Johns Wort.

The Alternative Breaks program places teams of college students in community service and experiential learning positions during their summer, fall, winter, or spring breaks. Students perform short-term projects for community agencies and learn about issues such as literacy, poverty, racism, hunger, homelessness, and the environment. UM coordinates Alternative Breaks during Spring and Summer Breaks. Alternative Break trips have an optionally attached service-learning independent-study credit.

May 17 - May 20, 2022: Join ELCS and the Rasmuson Wildlife Conservation Center, for a trip to the Rasmuson Wildlife Conservation Center to learn and gain hands-on experience in the field of conservation. The cost of the trip is $100 and includes, lodging, transportation, and meals for 3 days. The priority deadline for applications is Tuesday, April 26th. Download the application HERE.

Past Events:

Mar. 20 - Mar. 25, 2022: Join ELCS, The Road Home, and Utah Food Bank for a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah to work with non-profit organizations focused on hunger and homelessness relief. The cost of the trip is $200 and includes lodging, transportation, and meals for 4.5 days. The priority deadline for applications is Friday, February 18th.
