Faculty-Directed Programs

Faculty-Directed Programs

In a faculty-led program, you will study, live, travel and explore cultures and historic sites with usually other UM students (or sometimes with students from other universities) while earning UM credits. In most cases, you will have the advantage of learning from a UM faculty member who specializes in the program’s subject of study. These programs provide educational experiences that promote mutual understanding, cultural competency, intellectual development, and contribute to a global-minded community.

While some programs are offered every year or every other year, others may be offered periodically or be one-time opportunities. Programs may last anywhere from a couple weeks to a semester during Spring, Summer, or Winter terms. Some programs may have prerequisites. Please contact the Education Abroad Office with any questions you may have.

Because faculty-directed programs can change every year, we consider these opportunities our "Featured Programs." Featured Programs are noted with a star in our public catalog. This will help you search and see if there is an upcoming faculty-directed adventure that is right for you!
