How to Apply

UM Education Abroad Application Process

Applying for a Partner University:

1. Search programs to decide where you would like to apply. Compare your options by clicking on each program name to view the brochure page (information page). Be sure to click through the informational tabs, from Program Overview to Costs and Scholarships.

2. Start your application from the brochure page by clicking on the "Apply Now" button in the upper right-hand corner of the Program Overview and Application Process pages.

  • Create only one application for the term you want to study abroad (ex. Spring 2022). You should list up to two additional universities as your second and third program choices in the event that you cannot be placed at your top choice.
  • If there are any major changes to your application status (withdrawing, deferring, switching universities or academic terms), please contact Education Abroad at GoAbroad@mso.umt.edu or (406) 243-2278 to update your application status.

3. Education Abroad will contact you once your application is complete in order to schedule an interview. You should research the host institution and host country. Be prepared to answer questions about how this study abroad experience relates to your future academic and life goals.

4. Complete your application by the deadline!
