Technical Communication

Program Description

Technical Communications is one of the fastest growing career fields in the country.  Professionals with a master's degree in Technical Communication can expect salary increases averaging ten (10) percent, no matter what their undergraduate field of study.

Montana Tech's Department of Professional and Technical Communication, in affiliation with The University of Montana - Missoula, offers a professional course of study leading to the M.S. in Technical Communication.  Our program emphasizes a problem-solving approach that empowers people in many disciplines to communicate more effectively across a wide range of media.  Candidates are expected to bridge the complex and isolated vocabulary of science and technology with the needs of a wider society.

A unique feature  of this affiliated program is the ability of Missoula students to transfer up to 16 credits into the program.  In many cases this will allow students to complete much of the degree program at a distance or to obtain two graduate degrees in a compressed time frame.
