Cancellation and Prepayment
The application prepayment is $200.00 and will be applied towards the housing charges. If a room reservation is canceled for Fall Semester, the following cancellation policy applies.
Cancellations made prior to occupancy should be submitted online using the online Cancellation Request, which is available in myHousingPortal. Cancellations after Occupancy must be made directly with the UM Housing Office. Changing or cancelling enrollment with Admissions will also be considered a cancellation with UM Housing and Campus Dining. Cancellations not received prior to the official semester move-in date will follow the UM Housing Refund Policy and room charges will continue to be assessed through the date UM Housing receives cancellation notice or the semester audit is completed.

Housing Refunds
Room and Board refunds will be processed according to the following schedule. Percentage refunded listed below does not include the cancellation charge. In addition to the percentage schedule a cancellation charge will be assessed.

All refunds are applied to the student's CyberBear account and will be applied to any owing balance. If the refund is greater than the balance owing, the remainder will be refunded to the student through the University of Montana refund process.
