Trampoline & Aerial Acrobatics

Learn or refine aerial acrobatic and tumbling skills on a variety of trampolines. Focus is on proper progressions and techniques. Strengthens and tones body, while increasing flexibility, agility, and spatial awareness. Class is designed for all skill levels. Held off campus at Bitterroot Gymnastics. YMCA Fitness Classes
A wide variety of fitness classes are offered to choose from. These classes are taught to provide a safe and effective workout. All classes include warm-up, cardiovascular conditioning, cool-down, and stretch. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Appropriate dress.

YMCA Aquacize
For swimmers of all levels. Each class includes a warm-up, cardio session, cool-down, toning session, and stretch. Floatation belts, noodle, kickboards, and dumbbells are used in combination with water resistance to provide a great workout. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Goggles recommended.

45 minute drive from UM campus. A shuttle bus leaves the University 1 hour before class.

An 8-week program comprised of 6 on-snow classes and 2 dry-land classes

The classes include assessment of skills and goals, and students are assigned to appropriate group levels.

Students may provide their own equipment or rentals are available from Snowbowl.  Rental fees are paid directly to Snowbowl, and cover all 6 on-snow classes.  Rental fees will be covered during the mandatory first class, and are separate from normal UM course tuition and fees.

Beginning Alpine Skiing
For the first time skier and/or those who can link wedge turns on beginner runs. An 8-week program comprised of 6 on-snow classes and 2 dry-land classes Class includes assessment of skills and goals, and assignment to appropriate group level. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Provide own equipment or rentals are available at the mountain.

Intermediate Alpine Skiing
For those who are beginning parallel turns on beginner runs and/or parallel skiers on intermediate runs. An 8-week program comprised of 6 on-snow classes and 2 dry-land classes. Classes include assessment of skills and goals, and assignment to appropriate group level. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Provide own equipment or rentals are available at the mountain.

Advanced Alpine Skiing
For the confident parallel skier in all conditions skiing advanced terrain. An 8-week program comprised of 6 on-snow classes and 2 dry-land classes. Classes include assessment of skills and goals, and assignment to appropriate group level. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Provide own equipment or rentals are available at the mountain.

Beginning Snowboarding
For the first time snowboarder and/or those who can sideslip, traverse, and beginning to turn on beginner runs. An 8-week program comprised of 6 on-snow classes and 2 dry-land classes. Classes include assessment of skills and goals, and assignment to appropriate group level. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Provide own equipment or rentals are available at the mountain.

Intermediate Snowboarding
For those who can link turns on beginner runs and/or link turns on intermediate runs. An 8-week program comprised of 6 on-snow classes and 2 dry-land classes. Classes include assessment of skills and goals, and assignment to appropriate group level. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Provide own equipment or rentals are available at the mountain.

Advanced Snowboarding
For those comfortable riding advanced terrain in all conditions. An 8-week program comprised of 6 on-snow classes and 2 dry-land classes. Classes include assessment of skills and goals, and assignment to appropriate group level. Graded Credit/No Credit. Equipment Needs: Provide own equipment or rentals are available at the mountain.

Beginning Telemarking

Students enrolling in courses taught at UM's Fitness and Recreation Center must present a Griz Card validating that the Campus Recreation Fee has been paid for that semester.
