Managed Print Project

UM IT and Fisher's Technology have been working together to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and improve print technology for staff and students. Through a managed print program, we can better serve the needs of everyone on campus as well as significantly reduce our annual expenditures, energy consumption, and eliminate the need to purchase hundreds of costly desktop printers across campus.

Goals

  • Increase productivity and security.
  • Reduce printing by 30%.
  • Reduce energy consumption by 40%.
  • Reduce printing costs by $100K per year.
  • Remove locally connected printers that are costly and pose a security risk.
  • Manage the procurement of new devices with the latest technology.
  • Provide the ability to print to any FindMe Printing device on campus using PaperCut.
