Connecting for the first time
January 24, 2014: If you are experiencing activation password problems, please contact IT Central for assistance at 406-243-HELP (4357).
From a web browser, go to: www.umt.edu/umconnect
On the Login page, enter your NetID and Password. Click Login.
On the Account Setup - Connecting for the first time screen, an initial password will display.
Write down the password as you will need it on the following screen and when you change your password once you have logged into UMConnect.
After you have read the screen, click on the Activate button.
A Windows Live screen will display.
Follow the steps below (in red) to activate your account.
At the Microsoft Outlook Web App screen, if you have low vision and use a screen reader, you can select a light version of UMConnect. Note that if you select this version, some features may not be available. The default language is English. Select UTC-07:00 Mountain Time (US & Canada) time zone and then click Save.
You are now in your UMConnect Inbox.
If you access your UMConnect account through another web site (http://outlook.com/umconnect.umt.edu), you will have to use your Windows Live login (NetID@umconnect.umt.edu) and password you setup during the activation process.
