Montana Journalism Review (MJR)

Founded in 1958, Montana Journalism Review (MJR) is produced, designed and edited by journalism students at the University of Montana. They learn how to edit and publish a magazine from the idea stage to the print run.

As the oldest journalism review in the nation, MJR has its roots in tradition while striving to evolve with new digital storytelling methods. It offers a bold, affectionate, and sometimes irreverent look at the state of the media in Montana and the West. Its trademarks are on-the-ground, in-depth reporting, highly visual storytelling and respect for those on opposite sides of contentious issues. Check out our stories and subscribe!
