Marketing Coordinator

Do you fit a ‘problem-solver’ profile? Are you fearless about learning new things? Are you pretty organized? Are you a team player who says, “Yes!” more than “No.” If you answered yes to these questions, this student job could be for you.

The Blackstone LaunchPad at UM (BLP-UM) and Accelerate Montana Marketing Coordinator has three main duties:

  1. To help coordinate email marketing campaigns/lists, manage and populate social media accounts, develop brand consistency, build digital relationships, and help contribute to the website/implement.
  2. To help facilitate digital cohesion between all BLP-UM efforts as well as some Accelerate Montana organizations.
  3. To help staff BLP-UM and Accelerate Montana events.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Pretty darn good in Excel and Word.
  • Bomb communication skills (writing and otherwise).
  • Interest in new technologies or experience working with digital technologies (e-mail marketing, social media management, and/or web management experience).
  • Independent work ethic.
  • Problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fearless energy and limitless ambition.
  • Team player.
  • Work study if you have it.

Hours: 15 hours per week.      Wage: $9.00 per hour to start.

Web Manager

Are you a tech wizard? Do you blog? Do you like musing about user experience? Do you like sleek design and clean, concise writing? Are you pretty organized? If you answered yes to these questions, this student job could be for you.

The Blackstone LaunchPad and Accelerate Montana Web Manager has four main duties:

  1. To work with the Marketing Coordinator and Graphic Designer to implement BLP-UM and Accelerate Montana brands across relevant websites and blogs.
  2. To generate and manage content across blogs and websites. This includes working with the marketing coordinator to tell stories of achievement by clients and the organization as well as incorporate social media and e-mail marketing into the website.
  3. Work with our User Experience team to ensure our website provides ease of use and an enjoyable experience.
  4. Generate content and hype in our cloud-based, entrepreneurial community.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Bomb communication skills (writing and otherwise).
  • Experience working in a Content Management System (Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress, Cascade, or other).
  • Independent work ethic.
  • Problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fearless energy and limitless ambition.
  • Programming/CSS chops.
  • Team player.
  • Design skills.
  • Work study if you have it.

Hours: 8-10 hours per week.                    Wage: $9.00 per hour to start.

Startup Financial Consultant

Are you a whiz with excel and financial spreadsheets? Do you understand the basics of profit and loss statements? Are you pretty organized? Is time your friend, not your foe? Are you comfortable with gray area? Are you able to have meaningful conversations with people and dig into unknown territory? If you answered yes to these questions, this student job could be for you.

The Blackstone LaunchPad Startup Student Accountant has two main duties:

  1. To work with clients on developing financial models for their startups using breakevens,  expense forecasting, and revenue predictions.
  2. Cleaning up financials for clients looking to present finances for funding (banks, VCs, and Angels).

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Google Docs.
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and otherwise).
  • Technology enthusiast.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Independent work ethic and great time management skills.
  • Problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fearless energy and limitless ambition.
  • Team player.
  • Work study if you have it.

Hours: 10-15 hours per week.                    Wage: $9.00 per hour to start.

Filmmaker

Are you a story teller? Do you obsess over obscurities? Are your Spotify playlists soundtrack-worthy? Do you bring a monopod with you “just in case?” Are you an everyday hustler? Do you dog-ear pages in your Walter Murch books? If you answered yes to these questions, this student job could be for you.

The Blackstone LaunchPad & Accelerate Montana Filmmaker has four main duties:

  1. To capture the stories of entrepreneurs on campus and in the community who have used Accelerate Montana services through indie/artistic video.
  2. To capture the stories behind events we run and the people who attend through creative filmmaking.
  3. To condense storytelling into bite-sized pieces of 15, 30, and 45-second clips. Very few videos will go longer.
  4. To occasionally pitch in, outside of main job duties, to ensure Accelerate Montana events and efforts are successful.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Proficient in editing software like Final Cut or Premiere.
  • Some title animation experience.
  • Strong editor (sound and video).
  • Relevant work experience or bomb portfolio (we need creativity!).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Video Journalism or Media Arts student.
  • Setting up shots that make our heart go pitter-patter.
  • Post skillzzz. Intuitive editing with intention.
  • Lighting basics.
  • Team player.
  • Work study if you have it. 

Hours: 6-8 hours per week.                    Wage: $9.00 per hour to start.
