Homecoming Surprise! Law School Receives $2.5 Million Bequest for Scholarships

The Alexander Blewett III School of Law at the University of Montana has received its largest-ever planned gift and the second largest gift in the history of the school; an anonymous $2.5 million bequest that will ultimately be used for merit scholarships. "This is tremendous news for future generations of law students," said Dean Paul Kirgis. "Scholarships are essential to attract the best and most diverse student body and that translates into outstanding lawyers practicing in Montana and around the country. We are truly humbled by this gift and by the donor’s belief in what we are doing at the school."

Blewett Scholarship Matching Challenge Raises Over $400,000 in First 15 Months

The $1.5 Million scholarship matching challenge included in the Blewett naming gift has raised over $400,000 in just the first fifteen months, putting it well on pace to meet the match. "The response to the scholarship challenge has been very strong and I fully anticipate we will meet the ambitious goal set by Zander and Andy Blewett," said Dean Paul Kirgis.
