School of Law and U.S. District Court Join Forces to Renovate Pope Room

Thanks to funding provided through the District of Montana’s Attorney Admission Fund, a $30,000 gift will provide upgrades to the Pope Room. Chief Bankruptcy Judge Benjamin Hursh presented the check to School of Law Dean Paul F. Kirgis. “The Pope Room was initially conceived to honor Judge Pope’s service as a professor and member of the federal judiciary by providing a unique meeting space where the paths of law students, faculty and members of the judiciary would intersect,” said Judge Hursh.

Bridging Divides: Energy, Environment, and Empowerment in a New Era

Join us during Homecoming and Law Alumni Reunion Weekend for our 37th Biennial Public Land Law Conference, which seeks to answer the question: How do we bridge divides and find common vision to manage our energy and environmental resources in an evolving political climate? Energy development, indigenous involvement, and environmental interests offer seemingly competing visions for the stewardship of our natural resources. The conference will bring together voices of local communities, federal and state actors, tribal nations, and private and nonprofit interests, to work toward a common vision of the law and policy of energy and the environment.
