Baucus Leaders in Washington, D.C.The Baucus Institute focuses on inspiring public service by providing training, education and internship opportunities to current and future public and private sector leaders to prepare them to address the critical legal and policy challenges facing Montana, the United States and the world.

We offer three distinct leadership programs:

Each summer, we place undergraduate and graduate Montana students as interns in Congressional offices and committees in Washington, D.C. to experience politics and the legislative process first-hand.

Are you a standout student of public administration and policy student at UM interested in a project-based learning experience in a Montana-based office? This is the opportunity for you.

Baucus Climate Scholars

There are five openings for exceptional Montana college students to make up our first cohort of Baucus Climate Scholars. These Scholars will intern with a national organization working on climate and environment issues.
